Contact thescribe@sre.gb.com The Strathclyde Area of the SRE covers the southern fringe of the central belt, to the west of Biggar southwards to Galloway, ie the South-West of Scotland from Glasgow to Stranraer. We have 14 members in the region, living in places as far apart as Glasgow and Kirkcudbright. Our normal activities are centred upon monthly meetings held during the winter and early spring on the afternoon of the third Sunday, at the Newhouse Hotel, near Junction 6 of the M8. Some of us meet there for lunch and others join us later. If the weather is fine, we often go for short tours to places of interest; on less clement days, we spend the afternoon chatting - mostly of Rileys and associated affairs. Wives and/or partners usually attend, and the gatherings are very informal and friendly. During the summer, we normally revert to an evening meeting on the third Monday of each month at 7.30pm, same venue. Attendance at our meeting is usually in the region of 10 people and several Rileys. We welcome anyone with an interest in old vehicles and often have visitors who are not Riley owners - yet!
